Application of Peristaltic Pumps in Packaging Equipment
The working principle of a printing press is to create printing plates from the text and images that need to be printed, install them on the press, then coat the areas of the plates that contain the text and images with ink, and transfer them onto paper or other items to be printed (such as textiles, metal panels, plastics, wood, glass, and ceramics), thereby reproducing the same text or patterns as on the printing plates.
In glue spraying machines and printing equipment, peristaltic pumps can circulate a variety of water-based and solvent-based inks and dyes, high-speed laminating glue, and other liquids. They can also be used for maintaining ink line pressure.
In packaging equipment, peristaltic pumps are commonly used for pumping adhesives and for precise liquid dispensing. Adhesives have extensive applications in the packaging industry: the preparation, forming, and sealing of corrugated paper, cartons, and paper boxes; adhesion and sealing of paper cans and tubes; labeling and sealing of bottles, cans, and drums; and lamination of paper and cardboard, polymer films, and metal foils.
Advantages of using peristaltic pumps for fluid transfer:
1. Pollution-free, with sealed pipelines, as the material only contacts the pump tube.
2. Capable of metered transfer.
3. Low shear, good sealing, can run dry, and reversible operation.
4. No valves or seals, easy to clean.
5. The tubing is a replaceable component, simple to replace, and easy to maintain.
