The specifications of peristaltic pump tubing in the market are generally consistent. According to the material, they can be divided into: domestic silicone tubing, Pharmed BPT tubing, Chemical tubing, Viton tubing, etc. Domestic silicone tubing can convey aqueous solutions, salt solutions, methanol, ethanol, weak acids, weak alkalis, and so on. If it is necessary to convey highly corrosive media, imported pump tubing can be chosen. When pumping corrosive fluids, the choice of tubing material for the peristaltic pump is crucial.

The service life of tubing varies with different materials and specifications, and tubing with a suitable service life should be selected according to usage. Pharmed BPT tubing has a longer lifespan compared to domestic silicone tubing and also better airtightness. For example, in anaerobic bacterial culture experiments, the airtightness of the tubing is very important as it prevents external oxygen from entering the cultured bacteria through the tubing.

In addition, imported pump tubing not only has superior chemical compatibility and lifespan compared to domestic silicone tubing, but also higher hardness. Therefore, when selecting pump tubing and a drive unit, the impact of tubing hardness on the drive unit should also be considered.
