Peristaltic Pump Flow Calculation Method
Peristaltic pumps are positive displacement pumps, and the flow output generated per revolution is fixed. By adjusting the rotation speed, the required flow can be easily obtained.
Therefore, by testing the flow at a fixed speed of the peristaltic pump, the output flow at different speeds can be calculated. Typically, the calculated flow and the actual flow have an error range within 2%.
Calculation Method
1. Confirm the detailed configuration of the peristaltic pump, including the driver, pump head, and tubing model.
2. Obtain the flow at the current configuration and fixed speed, using 1 minute as the reference.
3. Flow ÷ Speed gives the flow output per revolution for the current configuration.
4. Adjust the required flow according to the flow output per revolution.
Note
Flow-type peristaltic pumps and distribution-type peristaltic pumps, with flow display and calibration functions, can directly adjust the flow size.
